Boston Food Access – Meal Sites in or near Chinatown

  • Wang YMCA: Currently only serving youth and kids who attend YMCA. 
  • Chinese Evangelical Church:
    • Tuesdays and Wednesdays through the end of October
  • Quincy School: Serves all BPS student on Wednesdays from 10 am to 6pm

The food at those three sites are just for youth – no seniors can eat that food.  Parents and grandparents can pick up food for the kids to eat, not for adults to eat.

There are other places where everyone can go for food. If you need prepared meals, you can contact the Greater Boston Chinese Golden Age Center at 617-357-0226. In these locations all adults can get food any time:

1. International Institute of New England

·    Monday, Friday: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
2. St. Francis House Meals
o    39 Boylston St., Boston, MA 02116
Monday – Sunday: 7:30 AM – 9:00 AM and 11:30 to 1:00pm
3. Boston Rescue Mission / Meals
o    39 Kingston St., Boston, MA 02111

·    Monday – Friday: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM
·    Monday – Sunday: 6:30 AM – 7:30 AM
·    Sunday: 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM
4. St Anthony Shrine/Franciscan Food Center

·    Saturday: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
·    Thursday: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Additionally, everyone can go to the farmer market in Copley Square and Public Market Dewey and get $10 in coupons to use at the farmers market. The coupons are available until the end of October

We ask you, though, to not take the food unless you need it.  We want to be sure that everyone has enough food.  .  Please make sure to only take what you need.  We want to be sure that no food is thrown away, and that everyone who needs food is able to get some.  This is a time that we need to respect each other, to think about other people, and to make sure that everyone in Chinatown has enough food to eat.
